How much preparation time should photography get?

Reserve an uninterrupted preparation window before departure. This gives the photographer time for attire, jewellery, portraits, close family, and small details without turning the beginning of the day into a rush.

Have the key items together before photography begins: rings, invitation, bouquet, shoes, jewellery, and any family heirlooms you want recorded. A tidy area near a window is usually more useful than a large room with mixed light.

How do we make family photographs faster?

Prepare a short, ordered list of essential family groups and ask one person from each family to help gather relatives. Photograph the largest or least-mobile groups first, then release people as the combinations become smaller.

• Keep the essential list focused; extra combinations can follow if time remains.
• Tell the photographer about elders or accessibility needs in advance.
• Choose one uncluttered location so groups do not repeatedly move.

When should couple portraits happen?

Schedule couple portraits when the light and location are workable, with enough buffer before the next ceremony or journey. A shorter, calm portrait session usually produces stronger photographs than a longer session squeezed between delays.

Share the full event order and travel times before the wedding. The photographer can then identify one primary portrait window and a smaller backup window if the day runs late.
